The community cohesion fund is a single round of grant funding, administered by Blackpool Council.
Applications will be open until midday on Monday 17 February 2025.
Applications can be submitted by any not-for-profit organisation based in or delivering work in Blackpool but should focus on creating community cohesion and a sense of togetherness.
Community cohesion
Community cohesion is the ability of communities to function and grow in harmony. A cohesive community has strong links to concepts of equality and diversity, and can be defined as:
- There is a common vision and a sense of belonging for all communities
- The diversity of people’s different backgrounds and circumstances is appreciated and positively valued
- Those from different backgrounds have similar life opportunities
- Strong and positive relationships are being developed between people from different backgrounds and circumstances in the workplace, in schools and within neighbourhoods
What we won’t fund
We are unable to fund:
- Uniforms
- Political activities
- Mobile phones and contracts
- Utility bills including insurance
- Applications where planning permission hasn’t already been agreed (where applicable)
- Projects that have already been funded or already been delivered
- Project planning and consultant fees
- Individuals
Evidence of outcomes
Each successful organisation will be expected to provide an end of project summary to include information on activity delivered, uptake, outcomes and feedback from participants.
This report should be no longer than a single side of A4 (excluding photographs). Where photos are included organisations must ensure they have received permission to share.

- Not-for-profit and community organisations based or delivering in Blackpool
- Organisations must have a community bank account with 2 signatories (not at the same address). The account must be in the name of the community group
How much can I apply for
There is no minimum grant size. The maximum grant size is £10,000. Value for money should be considered and will be scored as part of the application process.
